Building on the momentum of a successful six years, the Port of Hueneme is again hosting the “Banana Festival at the Port” and is inviting the community to celebrate with us! The Port of Hueneme, one of California’s busiest seaports for general cargo, handles over $9 billion in cargo value annually and is among the top U.S. ports for automobiles and fresh produce. The Oxnard Harbor District began over 75 years ago with a mission to provide California’s central coast agricultural community with an ocean link to the global market. Today, the Port handles bananas and tropical fruit as well as additional cargos including auto imports and exports, liquid bulk fertilizer, farm and other heavy equipment. Operations at the port generate more than 13,000 jobs locally (direct, indirect, and induced) and infuses more than $1 billion dollars every year into the community.
